MSC Acquires 51% Stake in TIS Container Terminal at Pivdennyi Port
One of the world’s largest container shipping operators, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), has entered the Ukrainian port sector by acquiring a 51% stake in the TIS Container Terminal at Pivdennyi Port, according to Latifundist.
According to YouControl data as of May 15, the largest ultimate beneficiaries of the company are members of the Aponte family. Diego Aponte and Alexa Aponte each indirectly control 25.5% of the company.
Other shareholders include Yegor Grebennikov with 11.72%, Andrii Stavnitser with 9.72%, and Oleg Koutatéladzé with 9.19%.
Earlier, it was reported that DP World had sold its 51% stake in the TIS Container Terminal at Pivdennyi Port. The stake was subsequently repurchased by the TIS Group, and has now been transferred to MSC.
The transaction marks the arrival of one of the leading players in the global container shipping industry at Pivdennyi Port and is expected to strengthen the terminal’s integration into international logistics and supply chains.
